A ceremonial groundbreaking for "Tiny House Village" in Las Vegas was held on Monday. The initial plan would start with 11 units.
"It takes vets off the streets and provides permanent housing for them," said Founder Arnold Stalk told KSNV-TV. "This is a precursor to next development of 100 homes, hopefully right next door." Read more.

It’s safe to say the amenities planned for the complex, the working dream of longtime Southern Nevada affordable housing advocate Arnold Stalk, wouldn’t be found in the concierge directory of a Strip resort. The sand-colored Econo Lodge on Las Vegas Boulevard just south of Charleston has offered budget-priced rooms for tourists and visitors looking for longer stays since the 1960s, but now it will serve a higher purpose: providing shelter to some of Southern Nevada’s homeless veterans.
